Servo drive and visual inspection collaboration: Improving liquid filling accuracy
In fields such as medicine and cosmetics, where precision in dosage is crucial, liquid filling errors were once a major pain point for the industry. This is especially true for high-viscosity materials, which can easily result in uneven filling due to differences in fluidity. Nowadays, the collaborative technology of servo drive and visual inspection has pushed equipment precision to new heights, achieving an error control of ±0.1%.
Traditional mechanical transmissions rely on components such as gears and cams, which are prone to precision drift due to wear. However, servo drive technology, which utilizes servo motors and high-precision flowmeters to form a closed-loop control system, can adjust the filling speed and dosage in real time, accurately responding to changes in material characteristics. For example, for syrup-type materials, the motor can dynamically adjust its speed based on viscosity to avoid dosage deviations.
The visual inspection system has become the “guardian” of precision. It captures data such as bottle positioning and liquid level height through a high-speed industrial camera, identifies deviations in milliseconds, and feeds them back to the control system. If there is a deviation in the bottle position, the system can immediately adjust the position of the conveyor line; when the liquid level exceeds the standard range, the servo motor synchronously corrects the filling volume, forming a complete closed loop of “detection – feedback – correction”.
